We all know that many species are already endangered or almost to the point of extinction because of our selfishness. Dodos, one of the world's flightless birds were extinct due to humanity's greed. They became the favorite meal of pirates for they were easy to catch and a substitute for chicken meat. Whales are hunted for they are easy money makers. The bigger the whale, the more meat will be processed.
Today the hunters focus on bears. Bears are omnivores meaning they eat plants and meat. Due to their unique diet, bears are one of the most healthy mammals on earth but that title pays a price. Studies show that bear kidneys are a good source of nutrients that may cure known diseases just by adding it to one's diet. In one episode in Discovery Channel the narrator stated that with the use of bear kidneys it is possible to find the right cure for cancer. This is an issue that other wildlife researchers would wish not to be true because sooner or later these kidneys would be out on the market.
As future nurses who are patient centered and always for the optimum health of all, Is it ethical to kill animals to the point of extinction just so we could benefit and have a greater life?

Bipolar students
Studies show that individuals with superior academic performances are 4 times more likely to develop a bipolar disorder while the inferior ones are still 2 folds prone to this disorder. Depression is one of the factors that initiates this disorder. As nursing students we are prone to depression and if that's case, we are likely to develop this disorder. After knowing this information would you still surpass your limit and aspire to be the best or would you rather be an average student and be glad you have a passing grade????????
